Seattle Nats’ Mike Tobey to join Miami Heat as their third-string center

Mike Tobay is joining the Miami Heat’s roster as their second-string centers, the team announced Wednesday.

Tobay, a third-year pro, was waived by the San Antonio Spurs last month and was originally selected by the Chicago Bulls with the fifth overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-9 Tobay will join veteran guard Brandon Jennings and rookie forward Chris Johnson, who are both on the Heat’s depth chart.

Johnson was acquired by the Heat in a trade with the Dallas Mavericks earlier this month.

Tobin is averaging 3.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game in five games this season for Miami.
