Tom Brady is the NFL’s reigning MVP.
He has been with the Patriots for almost five decades, winning three Super Bowls and a league-record four Super Bowl rings.
He will be playing for the New York Giants this season.
But that’s not all the Patriots star quarterback will be returning for.
Tom Brady announced Tuesday that he will not play in the AFC Championship game.
This comes as a bit of a surprise to many, as it was widely believed that the Patriots had already decided to retire him, and that it was only a matter of time before they would officially retire him.
Tom was already on the cusp of retirement when he announced his decision on Twitter on March 10.
Now it appears that the NFL might be moving on from the former MVP.
Tom will play for the Giants in the regular season, but will not participate in the postseason.
It is unclear what impact the decision will have on the Patriots offense or the offense of the New Orleans Saints.

After all, this was supposed to be the end of Tom Brady’s illustrious career.
But with the NFL moving forward with its plan to retire Tom Brady, the time for him to go is fast approaching.
Brady’s announcement Tuesday did not go down well with many fans and the NFL in general.
It has been widely believed, especially by Tom’s former teammates, that Tom would retire as soon as possible.
Tom has said he will retire after the 2018 NFL season.
However, after Tom made his announcement, the New Patriots released a statement saying that they would not be retiring him.
In a statement released Tuesday, the team said:”After Tom’s comments on Twitter, the organization reached out to him and offered a formal offer to continue playing, but that was not acceptable to Tom.”
The statement went on to say:”Tom will be back for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, but in the meantime, we will have a plan in place to make the best possible decision for him.”
The Patriots and Tom have had some rough seasons, and fans were upset at how quickly the team was ready to announce their decision.
Tom and the team have been the face of the franchise since their inception in 1964.
